Episode 3 – Modulation Guitar Pedals
Let’s blast off to Destination: Modulation! What does modulation mean? Modulation means modifying something, but in music it means movement that changes the pitch, tone, or volume of sound. So, modulation pedals can bring a sense of movement to your music, or even a sense of depth, thickness, or fullness, depending on the effect.
In this video we explore a wide range of modulation effects including chorus, phaser, tremolo, vibrato, flanger, rotary, ring mod, and more, using my Squier Affinity Stratocaster and a fleet of modulation multi-fx pedals, including the full-features Walrus Audio Mako Series M1 mothership, along with two affordable, approachable multi-fx pedals: Flamma FC05 and Coolmusic Modulator … all driven by the warm overdrive of the Boss/JHS Angry Driver.
